The session on 'How the World Sees China' was moderated by Happymon Jacob, professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University and the founder and honorary director of the Council for Strategic and Defense Research, New Delhi. The panel comprised C Raja Mohan, Director, Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore; Bill Birtles, a journalist at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation; Sowmiya Ashok, an independent journalist; and Samir Saran, president, Observer Research Foundation.

The discussion began with the question on whether enough is being done to understand #China and its people. Raja said China's #nationalism is "not exceptional", and detailed issues of territorial expansionism, #military assertion, economic coercion, diplomatic aggression, and domestic repression.

On the Chinese education system, Bill emphasised how the fostering of extreme nationalism led locals to believe the foreign media is out to smear China's image.

China is the future of this planet. Whether you like it or not. Chinese have been center of the earth's economy since 4000 years even during ancient Egypt civilization. The amount of money CCP invests in Education, health care and technology is unprecedented.

Notice how many 'I think' sentences, and how little evidence is presented. Americans burned our economic advantage and our working and lower-middle classes in order to facilitate China's rise out of poverty, and into joining the modern world - a world the British created, we unwillingly inherited, and fought to preserve against fascism, communism, and socialism and their horrors. What we discovered for our efforts is that they have learned nothing, and are conducting total war against us: ideological, informational, academic, espionage, financial, economic, military, strategic warfare in order to replace the distributed balance of powers we have created and to replace it with 'China as the center of the world" (the meaning of 'middle kingdom'). Why doesn't the political commentariat state the obvious: that the Chinese communist party has not adopted communism or socialism, but fascism: a nationalist, ideological, totalitarian, state of total war at the expense of both those who invested in them and their neighbors who they seek to dominate and turn into client states.

Chinese are super pragmatic. Medias can form perception, but can't alter the reality matters. for example, when Modi elected as PM, Indian gdp per capta is 40% higher than Bangladeshi, now they are almost equal.

Bangal k Chunav mai desh bhar ka media 03 seat wali BJP ko 200 par bata raha tha. Tab kisi ne sangathan, neta etc pr koi sawal nahi kiya.
Lakin jab Congress UP mai mahanat kr rahi hai toh media bol raha hai Congress k pass sangathan, neta, vote bank etc nahi hai.
Media saath de ya na de, Aap saath aaye awaj milaye. Congress Party ko janta k saath or awaj dono ki jarurat hai.
Jai Jai Shiv Shankar!!
