I TRY CAMPING in a TESLA Model Y (Review of Tesla Air Mattress)

In this video I try camping in a Tesla Model Y in Devon and will also tour around Torquay, Brixham and Paignton using the official Tesla Air Mattress.

Campmode tip….

Tesla Camp Mode

Additional car setup changes I made in addition to campmode

Create a new local driver profile call it campmode.

Adjust seat for best mattress fitment so boot closes and gives good head space, you do have to manually adjust passenger seat but at least you have a reference point for each time you setup

Turned off sentry altogether while parked, I know camp mode turns this off when in use but didn’t need it while camping either.

Turned off auto lights, ambient lights, stearing wheel lights, turned screen brightness down, turned off lock sound. All within the local profile.

Hopefully Tesla will add these into a software update to camp mode.

Regarding the window covers, I'd suggest you put the foil side out to block the sun, but foil side in at night, not only to keep some warmth in, but also so that it's not so obvious to those outside that there's someone sleeping inside. The black facing out just looks like black tint after dark.

Plus, if on a campsite as you were, you could’ve hooked up to the bays electric hook up and trickle charged using the granny charger cable and kept your battery life as well as top up your battery!! Plus, as of this week the base model Y is no longer the LFP battery standard range but the new Long range with 379 miles for pretty much the same price! The IKEA TALGJE

17:56 whenever i sleep in my tesla, i just put it on screen clean mode after turning on camp mode so i don't have to wait for it to black by itself, alternatively theres covers for the screen that you can buy that you put over the screen, kinda like a glove to achieve a blacked out effect.

I don't know if you're aware of it already, but there is a channel run by someone in British Columbia who lives in a Tesla Model Y and goes around filming other people's Tesla homes on wheels. It's called Living In Tesla.

Good video. I find it funny, saying at 16:50 that the car has to double the temperature from 9 Celsius to 18 Celsius. Makes no sense from a physics point of view.

Perfect for me, driving through France and Spain several times a year. Heating, YouTube, cooling. I’d just park in an air du that has a charge station if I needed a lot of heat.

Brings back memories as we used to camp at Whitehill Farm with a trailer tent when the kids were young between 1991 to 2000. Would love to do this with Model Y, but I'm too old for camping now, unfortunately. Nice car and video.

Hey Mark! Im from America and those roads looked so small to me when you were leaving camp. Ive never been to the UK, but do you feel the Model Y is compact enough to navigate those streets?

I noticed there was a rv plug outlet. In the united states we have plug adapters so you can plug your car in all night and leave in the morning without losing much percentage on battery depending on outside temperature. Thanks for letting me know how much lose if not plugged in overnight.

If the camp site has electric hookup could you charge overnight with a 3-pin charger in camp mode too? Not sure if the supply would have enough power or if camp mode would stop it for some reason?
