This feels like a modern prom song with the triplet lyrics acting as a kind of rap. The of the drums make me think of someone pining after a percussionist in marching band.

The first few build-up melodies of anticipation, the soft blare of the electro disco around you, the anxious rhyming during the chorus, BA-RUMMP, the serene moments where you pull the other in too close and you look into her eyes and see your past and future, and the sudden closing as if the dance ended with a final kiss.
