Episode 43 of Learn Lightroom 5: Often people purchase my Lightroom Presets and reverse engineer them to see what I did to achieve that specific look. It's a good way to learn how to use Lightroom but unfortunately, it's not always readily apparent what I did. In this video, I demonstrate step by step how to achieve the Vintage Film Look in Lightroom.

Update 12/20/2018 -- a viewer told me that my video is identical to a video by the Photoshop Video Academy -- I really don't remember where I learned the technique from. Here, I think, is the video from Photoshop Video Academy that the viewer is referring to:

For one click processing of your images, check out my Lighroom Preset Bundles. The preset bundles works with Lightroom 4 and Lightroom 5 (CC). More information on them can be found here:

In the split toning panel, try to click in the squarebox where it shows you the colour.
It will open up a colour panel, which is much better to work with in my opinion.

Try pressing the ALT or OPTION key when changing the hue sliders in the split tone section - this will temporarily bump up the saturation so you can see the color you are selecting. BTW: Nice tutorial as always!

Hi Anthony! Really great video. I love the matte effect on photos. However, to have a good result in lightroom you need a good quality of photo. My question is on which settings was the photo taken? It's sharp, it doesn't have much contrast as I assume? Any suggestions would be helpful. :)

I'm catching up on all the videos Anthony. I found the periodic use of the magnifier to be quite useful.

Tony, was great!
I'd like to ask some more teaching about "Split tone" i think is has been not as useful as it could be for most of Lr5 users.

Thank you very much!
