That damn pin was a nightmare to get off. I ended up using a jewelers saw to cut if off ;) Definitely the quickest way. Mine did not slide out easily

I’m planning on doing this after near enough destroying my knob by removing it. Did you cut down the shaft as the throw seems a lot shorter. Looks good btw!

So this may sound stupid, forgive me, but how does a vacuum cap keep the knob in place? Suction?

I can't get my shift knob off for the life of me. 06 S40, I've pushed down and turned anti-clockwise just an't moving.
