Understanding Africa’s development dynamics

Africa recorded a 4.6 per cent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth between the year 2000 and 2018. Meanwhile, the launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) shows the continent’s commitment to achieving its aspirations of agenda 2063 of the African Union (AU). To fully transform Africa into a global powerhouse of the future, there is need for bolder and smarter policies to support these aspirations. Mario Pezinni, Director of Development Center at Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development joins CNBC Africa for more.

Why are Africa's development dynamics being assessed by a non-African based in Paris. Are there no African experts living and experiences these dynamics on the continent itself? I'm tired of being defined by non-africans on who were are and our future.
