I have Engineering and Business degrees from the U of R, and an Engineering diploma from Moose Jaw (when it was SIAST), so I've done a few classes😉 I did one semester at the U of Alberta, and one at U of Calgary as well. I started working with Engineering consultants in Calgary back in 1998. I've since moved to the Fed Govt and have about 6 years until retirement now.

The thing to remember in the real world is that it really makes no difference where you went to school, it's all about the interview. Not once have I ever been asked to produce my marks, nor did anyone care where I went to school, only that I have the degree. That's usually all that matters.

You may run into the odd clown that thinks because they went to a certain school, that only someone that also went to that school is worthy of hiring. Example, the delusional people that live in Saskatoon and think they live in Vienna or Vancouver. 🤣They also think that the U of S is some sort of world class school, even though it 'ranks' lower than U of R in many categories, including losing to the U of R every year in the business competition. Those inexplicable dummies are few and far between though. Bottom line, don't worry much about the 'ranking' of a school, it's meaningless.

I also have several friends with Computer Science and Petroleum degrees from the U of R, and they could pick and choose where they wanted to work (city and company). A few ended up in Calgary, one in Toronto, some stayed in Regina.

The cold doesn't bother me, but yah, it gets Russian-steppe cold in Saskatchewan. U of R has a world-class fitness centre (now...used to be a real dump), and the school overall is quite modern (now). There was a major renovation done in early 2002-ish when they built the new fitness centre and added the residences. It's a great school for athletics. The Owl used to be sort-of underground (literally), and they had $2 rye-and-cokes all day long. I saw the Tragically Hip play there in the early 90's before I even knew who they were! I laughed when you talked about the drinking culture...that's all of Saskatchewan bud 😉.

Wascana Park is awesome, and you have a bike trail than crosses the entire city. I think it's even nicer than Fish Creek in Calgary, and it's bigger than central park in New York. Regina also has the best Pizza in Canada, period. Houston, Trifons, Western, Juliana...even Rodo's. People in Calgary have it shipped to them frozen...I'm not joking.

Regina also has the highest paid and educated workforce in Saskatchewan, and one of the highest in Canada (look it up if you don't believe me). To me that's a big advantage.

You can't really give an average tuition amount. It depends on your classes and program.

Thank you for this video, it was very insightful ❤️ And tuition is approximately $18000 per year so it’s quite expensive for the ranking.

So, overall it's a YES. UoR stands at #25 in national ranking. Also, regina offers good business finance programs which I'm looking into. Also, it's cheaper and the community there feels like home because many students from my region study there. As a student, i consider it as the best option.

I go here. I really wish I didn't go here. Even through my program in am in there is only other 6 schools the offer it. If I go back to my high school self I would say go to Ontario to get my degree. Even though its far from where I live
