ShartimusPrime Biography:

Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Come on Hasbro, toy biz is still knocking it out of the park with the painted joint pins

Picked this guy up at the very beginning of this year. Spent quite a bit but don’t regret a single penny. I love how this one looks. Such a cool looking figure and fun to pose. A bit stylized but that’s part of that classic toybiz charm. I think he looks great next to the mafex 185 spidey.

Miss the old toybiz bases man, back then they had more detail than most the recent marvel legends 😂

toy biz marvel legends looked like a really good line so much detail and articulation

Oh wait, you're right. There is that diaphragm ball joint or whatever. The sinister Six one didn't have that

Back in the toybiz days the only spideys I had were Tobey maguire movie spideys, sinister 6 spidey, and the sentinel series first appearance spidey

11:23 the animated version is definitely my favorite spider-man figure, it has a lot of nostalgia.

I know people like to argue how much better the proportions on figures are from hasbro, but toybiz figures had stylization and pound for pound of the time, they had way more sculpt and paint and accessories for their price. Hasbro gives the bare minimum and the max price. Sign of the times. I love the few Toybiz ive gotten.

One thing Toybiz has over Hasbro in spades: the absolute love they put into these figures.

I feel like figures have devolved. 20years ago, figures had almost double articulation than today. Back then, it was normal for toy biz figs to have toe joints and more, but right now, that’s new for marvel legends.

I found this guy years ago in a fleamarket and used it as my default Spidey for the longest time. Didn't know it was so sought after, haha!

I swapped the Macfarlane head sculpt onto my fearsome foes body with the brighter blue. And that was my go to Toybiz Spidey back in the day.

Man, I know newer collectors like to shit on the older sculpts and proportions, but damn did ToyBiz put love in their figures. Sure the ball jointed hips and the overall proportions are odd by today’s standards, but we sure do get some subpar sculpts from Legends these days. And those don’t come with that much paint, that much detail, and unique / large accessories that would still hold up today. ToyBiz put love into
their figures all the time. Maybe it didn’t always translate well, but you know they always tried their best.

I think it might be that one that looks closer to a mcfarlane inspired design! I have had these sinister Six pack ones but I always had issues with the shin and wrist swivels becoming frozen and locked

Damn the Spider-Man party with all them crying 😂

Please do a “Toybiz Tuesday”. Even if you showed the figure with less effort and unedited it would be fine.
