D-Day veteran Jim "Pee Wee" Martin served in the famed 506th Parachute Infantry, 101st Airborne Division and advised the HBO hit miniseries "Band of Brothers." He trained at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, and in 1942-1943, parachuted behind Utah Beach in the wee hours of June 6, 1944, and went on to fight in Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, and into Germany, where he helped to liberate a concentration camp capture Berghof, Hitler’s Bavarian home toward the end of the war. He joined VBC Greatest Generation Live on March 10, 2021. Jim Martin passed away at age 101 on September 11, 2022.
