The box artwork is the same as the original poster by Drew Struzan. Who also did the original star wars posters. He was the only one who was ever allowed to sign his movie posters and they were all hand drawn. My tutor from college actually worked with him in the past too.

This looks like a great figure, I missed out on getting the first one but I’m gonna pick up this one. Fun fact, I looked up the shoes he was wearing in the first film and they’re Nikes.

I still think the original has a closer likeness to MJF so keeping mine. I do like the skin tone and hair better on this one though.

6:56 "Tape Deck" I think that would be a bit bulky to carry around... 😉 This is a really weird release by Hot Toys, but it's good to have an improved version. Logically you would expect Einstein to come with Doc, but I guess they had to have an excuse to re-release Marty. Thanks for the review!

You're forgetting that it is technically accurate, Doc was wearing what he wore at the end of Back To The Future in part II.

I really want to like this figure but that head sculpt, it's really not good
Not sure what Justin is seeing that I'm not.
If you squint you can see Michael J Fox but gee, it's not great.

Love the BttF figures. We now have one of the Doc and Marty for each part of the trilogy. It would be great to have other 1:6 like Biff, Griff, Clara etc. it’ll cost a fortune but would be worth it. Currently waiting for the release of the Part 3 figures and can’t wait! Doc looks bad ass with his sniper rifle.

the og marty was my first ever hot toy. im keeping the og one. i dont think the headsculpt is any better. the paint yes but not the shape of the new head

Received mine today and have to admit that in hand this is a huge improvement on the original. Very happy with how this one has turned out and looking forward to adding the Part 3 figures when they’re released!

There’s absolutely no question about it that I will get this Marty since I have missed out on the first one. BTTF is my favourite movie of all time and having Marty and Doc in Hot Toys form is a dream a had for years. However, I do feel the Michael J Fox likeness is better on the 1.0 Marty. Yes, the head is to narrow, but his facial features are much closer to Fox’s. The new one seems a more generic, random guy. Also, seeing how little head movement Einstein gets despite of the added articulation really makes you wonder why they didn’t just make him a statue. The neck seam doesn’t bother me as much as it does some other people, but he would’ve looked 10 times better without it.

Great review. I'm even more excited to get mine now! I'm not too disappointed about the sunglasses. While true that he has them on in the original Drew Struzan poster (that's on the box) he actually only wears them in one scene in the film: The giant guitar amplifier at Doc's lab. Those sunglasses have MAYBE 20 seconds of screen time, and only about 10 seconds where they are clearly visible.

Wow! I'm very impressed with the new Marty McFly figure. I know others will disagree, but I think the head sculpt is far superior to the original. Getting Einstein is a real bonus and the seam around the neck isn't too distracting. Thanks for another awesome review!
