Expense doesn't make a watch 'Better': TAG Heuer & Rolex

Expense doesn't make a watch "Better": TAG Heuer & Rolex. I don’t know what it is about watches - but they seem to hold special meaning. They are these magical objects that hold memories! The expense of a watch doesn’t make it any more special - it is the memories each piece holds and if they practically fit into your life.
My TAG Heuer F1 is probably my most practical watch. I use the bezel for timing things, it’s the perfect size, it’s quartz so you set and forget. But it also holds memories for me. It is 90s and nostalgic which is obviously awesome - but also - it is the watch I wore to and from the hospital after giving birth.

My other most meaningful watch is my Rolex Oyster Perpetual

I have a Tag Heuer F1 that my wife bought for me 30 years ago. After watching a few of your videos I decided to take it out of my old watch box and refurbish it. The original crystal was so scratched it was almost impossible to read, so I replaced it with a sapphire crystal. I took the watch completely apart and cleaned it up with rubbing alcohol. It came on a rubber strap, which has long since deteriorated, so I'm looking for a decent rubber strap. The single pass nylon NATO works for now. I sat here today watching this video while wearing my old F1. I had forgotten how cool the watch was until you mentioned it. Thank you.

I’ve been a huge Tag Heuer fan for over ten years, and I refuse to apologize for it.

Proud daily wearer of the Seiko 5 “Dress KX”. For many it’s nothing special but it was my 40th birthday present to myself and it’s been a solid companion.

Same. My late Dad got me my first one. Wore it at the Lotus factory when I tested for a stillborn Evora GT3 program. Did not crack under pressure. Love my Explorer, GS, Sinn, Omega, CW, Ming, Formex but there's nothing like having an F1, Carrera and Aquaracer. They own the racecar space.

I have a TAG. Love it. Very sentimental to me. Could never part with it. Another major sentimental is my tissot. Rolex one day.

Congratulations and welcome back!
I don't have any truly expensive watches, but I most often wear a Bulova from my first friend, a G-shock from my late mom, and a Hamilton from my wife. The biggest feature is often the memories.

i wear my Explorer 40 and my GSAR when i'm out adventuring. i'm building memories and nostalgia into both. i can't go camping without either of them. i just got back from backpacking across the arctic circle on baffin island double wristing both of them.

I'm a late nighter... So I don't like short days...
But DST makes sense.

I love setting my watches as I'm always wearing a different one. The other day I went out wearing a smiley watch and I didn't even bother to set it as I was rushing.

"The Boxster of Rolex". These from people who don't realize how awesome both the Explorer and the Boxster are. Keep making great videos! Your videos are definitely the Rolex of YouTube watch videos. :-)

I love that you are getting the most enjoyment out of your Tag Heuer F1 - as that is what watch collecting is about, what makes us happy and content wearing. Really enjoy these outside the box (watchbox?) video topics!

I finally purchased my first high end timepiece last year. A Breitling Endurance Pro in Navy. It's fantastic. Dressed up with a suit or on a job site hanging drywall, it's bullet proof! It also was a halo piece for me to be able to afford such a watch. Now I can't decide if I want a Sinn 903 or the Longines Spirit Zulu Time as my next watch. I've officially fallen down the rabbit hole. Don't throw me a rope please and thank you.

I have a ceramic rado diastar that my dad gifted me as a teen. I don’t wear it much and it’s a quartz watch but I will always cherish it
