I haven't heard of Columnea "Prince, " but I have a few other columneas. They are related to Aeschynanthus (lipstick plants) and Nematanthus (goldfish plants). They have long tubular flowers similar to lipstick plant flowers, which are usually orange, but may also be yellow or red. They are fairly easy to care for, but would probably prefer a self-watering pot. Fun fact, they are also related to African violets, streptocarpus, and episcias. They are all part of the Gesneriad family.

We normally are the last to get anything of any excitement… but I think we were one of the first to get the Costa Farms Thai Cons. I guess they figure humidity doesn’t matter much with it. I look forward to seeing you in your new place - hopefully you have a more accessible plant room in the new place!

Hi Jaclynn!! Oh I am going to check my big box stores, Lowe's and Home Depot. I just think that your stores have better plants than we get, I really want an Adansonii because I love the way they look, and I have found some purple plants, that Purple Passion is one of my favorites and I have 2 of them and they are doing so great. I also have a Cebu blue Pothos that is big and I have propagated her a lot. I also have 11 succulents and the ones I have I do like a lot. I just have certain plants that I really like and I am going to keep looking for some very unique ones. I went to Walmart and they had some Philodendron Pink Princess that were 24.97 and they are really so pretty. I just want to get some of the plants that I lost back again. It is just that time of year when some of our nurseries get some really great plants, and I have found some really great plants at Lowe's. I always love when you go plant shopping and share some of the really cool ones that I am still looking for. Oh Jaclynn I am so excited for you to be moving to a great place and I think that all the plants you have will be happy in a new home and if you want to get some more you can do that also. I found a Monsters Thai Con and Standleyana Albo the other day at Walmart. I was so shocked and immediately scooped them up! I've seen other people find Monstera Siltepecana there as well and have been checking multiple times a week 😅 . They've definitely up-ed their game!

I have a "prince" columnea. When I bought mine it had a few red "goldfish" or "lipstick" blooms on it and the leaves seem variegated. So I just call it a Variegated Goldfish plant.

Columnea hirta 'Light Prince' 9:25 I have one. Has not flowered yet. I believe the prince has orange flowers that the light prince has red flowers.

I believe i saw some bear paw cactus in the Lowe's portion and i now have to run to my local Lowe's to see if i can find it lol I've wanted that little guy for a while. I also need a redo with the butt cactus 😂 he didn't like me the first go around

if you are tempted to get a cactus decorated with that straw or sponge "flower", here is an easy way to remove it. Use hair dryer toward the plant. The glue will melt, you can take it off without hurting a plant.
