This is no bull. Sycamore stands are absolute gold. One of the easiest trees to identify to boot

Wisconsin and Minnesota morrels grow by fallen elm trees I look for deer scat deer love morrels as well and I noticed you put them in a brown paper bag, my mom taught me to bring a bag that oranges come in they have itty bitty holes in them and you shake the bag gently releasing spores for next year's shake, the bag by where you picked them....

In NW Wisconsin we try to find dead elm trees but unfortunately, most elm trees have been dead and gone for a long time due to Dutch elm disease.
I have had the most luck around ash trees for morels. Ash are very easy trees to find and fairly abundant around here.

Cool. We used to do this every spring. We called them "leprechaun peckers".

All I can say is it must be nice! I'm in north west Missouri! And I see all these other people finding a ton of them!, Not me! Lol I just can't seem to find the. In this area! I moved here from about an hour south South east! Not matter the kind of tree or whatever! But I also need to say I've had to hunt on mostly public land rather than private land I was used to! So this weekend I'm getting on the boat to get down the river a ways to where it seems so remote to where no one else has been so far!! But anyways good job to the author of this video! And good luck to anyone else that's looking or coming up short this season like I am!

Been watching a lot of videos and most go crazy over slippery elms and tulips. These vids are from all over US. So in Missouri is the sycamore tree what I should be looking for?

Down there the white trees with papery bark that grows in the low lands might be sycamore, up here that same description is birch.

I live in Missouri and I looked in low bottom creeks that were loaded with Sycamore trees and never found a single mushroom. We're you on top of a ridge or it doesn't matter? We're the Sycamore trees dying?

One the best patches I’ve ever found was in a sycamore grove that washed out in 2019 I found close to 300 big ones but it hasn’t produced any the past couple years just a couple here and there. I can’t wait here in Va. I have an early spot that normally starts popping around march 17 but my other spots start around the first week of April. Hopefully it’s like it was in 2019 flooding and humid conditions the last week of April. We were getting 4 to 8 inches a week. I never thought I would find 500 but new flushes kept popping up well over a 100 lbs found that year. However last year I only found around 60 morels. Just hope this years better than last year. An amazing 7 weeks of finding morels in the same area.
