Judge and Chef George has set up the mystery box challenge for the nineteen remaining home cooks to cook a dish with leftovers from his restaurant the Press Club.

Masterchef Staff spent 3 hours searching through rubbish for ingredients, they were a bit low on budget 😂

The trick to working with kitchen scraps is: Grow up poor. You'll learn exactly how not to waste perfectly good food, even when it doesn't look as pretty as the prime ingredients. That mystery box is a treasure trove of good ingredients.

This is what Moms do everywhere. I always have leftovers and scraps and they get used for something. I don't have money to burn.

All my trimmings and carcasses get frozen. When I have enough I make a huge bone broth and pressure can it!

We use plenty of leftovers to do delicious stuff here.
The regional cooking of this part of Italy makes LARGE use of leftovers.
We have typical dishes that are mostly done with discarded parts from animals.
And the crust of parmesan has plenty of uses. It's commonly used in soups, it makes them delicious. A friend of mine loves to cut it in slices and microwave them. It makes crunchy parmesan chips.
