The bottom line is that it takes an act of faith of the same magnitude to believe in religion as it takes to believe in Marxism (or neomarxism, or postmodernism, or socialism, or communism...)


That's why all social justice warriors end most arguments with an ad hominem attack. They're trained to do that as a defense mechanism against the temptation of using their own critical thinking when the other side is presenting a lucid and articulate argument that debunks one of their many myths.

I don't really agree with how he describes people following reason to make a decision. People rarely do that. Instead, they make an emotional decision, then use reason and logic to justify it to themselves and others, as Jonathan Haidt describes.

Kant's conflict of faculties suggests our physical, logical and conscious faculties are always conflicted. This plays out individually and culturally, creating a consciousness clock spring of sorts with no absolute path towards the good. The most important question is who perspective rules.

Jesus is called the Logos. in Greek is logic. Christians who really follow Christ don;t find reason and logic conflicting with our faith. Plus I love Jesus, and his Spirit has changed me. So it's real, not something that I have to double down on my beliefs.
