my guy put on music from Revolution Void whilst explaining PWM, very based!!!

Can you please do it again without the distracting background noise.
Pretty please.

GOD BLESS PWMM. .PWM IS A GODSEND. Of course it's just a "technique" and not a "feature".

awesome as always, since so many years now :)

Excellent explanation and demonstration!

Your website is very helpful too. I haven't graduated yet from PicAxe so I would like to pwm on that chip. The goal is not to dim led's but instead have a fast constant pulse on my PicAxe 08M so I may "overdrive" some leds.
Are you familiar with the PicAxe line?
Can you tell me if the "pwmout" wizard will suffice for this task?
(or do I need to do something closer to your solution for dimming?)

Thanks again for the video/website!

I agree with other comments about background noise. When you give instructions like that, it would be far more understandable without the distraction of that cacophony. When you sit in an engineering lecture hall, the instructor doesn’t have house music blaring through the hall, so why should this be any different? NUKE the music, Simon. It only serves as a distraction and makes it more difficult to hear what you’re saying ;)

@Simon Inns excellent tutorial. :)
However, i would like to ask, how can you apply PWM for motor control?

what are the components and their values you have there, besides the LED.

Can u program in C- programing to control a brightness of an LED . im using a C8051F930 target board and would like to know if i would be able to code on C to control the LED brightness using PWM....i've nt learnt how do to coding based on PWM before and would gladly appreciate if you could help me

The high-pitched whine of my keyboard is less painful than the music on this video. I choose the lesser pain.

can someone tell me if it is possible to do this?
Please help me, im new to arduino

Hi Simon, I use the PIC18F8722 micro and its PWM is connected with the timer2 and timer4. Im using the timer2 for my experiment but I cant locate for example the TMR2IF flag, and thus I am unable to compile the file. do you know how can I use this one for my purposes? Thank you

Please also consider your pets in the flicker selection process as to avoid distress.

Very interesting. Mind that mS is milliseconds, not micro., uS is microseconds.

A pity, the music distracts sooo much.... otherwise it would be really good

No, since LEDs are 'solid-state' it will make no difference to their usable life.
