Good explanation. In addition, using Bcc prevents the proliferation of email addresses when a message is forwarded. For example, if you put 10 IDs on the To line of a message, 10 people have all 10 IDs. If each of them then forwards the message to 10 other people (common with jokes and the like), then 100 people have all those IDs. If those 100...well, you get the idea. Sooner or later all those valid IDs wind up in the inbox of a spammer. Multiple IDs on the To or Cc line can be a gold mine for spammers.
