The fact that J.K. Simmons got best supporting noms at CC and the Oscars still blows my mind. A nothingburger of a performance, really. If anyone deserved an acting nom for that movie, it was Nina Arianda, but she was never even part of the conversation.

Lost Daughter did super well at Indie Spirit winning Film, Director and Screenplay. It also won that USC Scripter Sward and Best Screenplay at Venice right out of the gate. It might win Screenplay here as well instead of Power.

I’m starting to think Jessica Chastain may be the front runner for the Oscar this year. She’s had a lot of great performances over the past decade without a big award win. The critics might pivot towards her after the SAG win.
