To be super discreet, I’ve learned to shoot from hip (stomach to be exact) with the camera just hanging innocently from my neck, and be aware of the zone range of my lens. Walk up to subject, turn your head sideways pretending looking for a target, and silently hit the shutter

Another tip : don't wear an orange jacket, so you don't stand out in the street ! 😉😊

I used that last technique when I was in Paris, France and got some good results. I am in Atlanta, Georgia and people approach me just as much as I approach them. I use a 24mm and 85mm. The 85mm lets you stay more hidden and you can get that compressed background to isolate a subject

Number three, Interaction, is the most genuine and respectful way to EARN a good street photograph. By being sincerely interested in your subject's work, world, life.
Fear of connection makes one sneaky, aloof, and elitist . The "bonus" tip works pretty well too... Namaste, my man.
