At 4:10 Coupta retells a joke Modi used to make. It's on the futility of the "rights based approach" of UPA, and how it leaves the poor farmers high and dry. At 4:30 you can see Yogendra Yadav shaking his head in disagreement. You know why? Because YoYa was in the NAC of UPA. YoYa is partly responsible for the massive corruption and disasters of Sonia Gandhi's government.

As rightly said by Yogendra, unless creative politics is discussed in such a forum in the local Indian language, we cannot change the minds of innocent voters. Politicians of other parties need to reach to the grassroots level like RSS. I live in a town of 4 lac population and I have never seen such type of discussions in my city. Such movements are needed all over India.

An interesting discussion! If media was under the influence of BJP how come the delivery of benefits noticed by Shekhar Gupta and Vandita Mishra was not reported or highlighted by mainstream media? Numerous newspapers/magazines/ news portals/TV channels/journalists/analysts were exclusively running down the PM/BJP. No questions were asked of the Congress/Opposition regarding their excessively negative campaign or distasteful. personal attacks on the PM . It's a bit rich for Yogendra Yadav or G Sampath ( of The Hindu, which is not exactly known for objectivity) to ascribe media dominance to BJP. If anything it was a case of anti BJP overkill! How long will you continue to abuse PM Modi?
Denial of any Modi effect by Tariq Thachil or Sampath is par for the course and only to to be expected..The effect has to be seen against the lack of a credible leader in the Opposition or a compelling alternative narrative ( a better product, in SG's words).
YY really made good points about selfless voting, flawed secularism and surrender of the nationalist plank in a post colonial young nation by the Opposition. GS echoed The Hindu line about abstract notions of nationalism which was at odds with the gut reactions of the ordinary Indian citizen.Rather than BJP using the nationalism plank it was handed on a platter to the BJP! Is there anything wrong about the Rashtrahit, Rashtrpratishta and Rashtrasuraksha as noticed by VM?
The lament about Congress's lack of resources is mystifying. Who was in power for most of the time after Independence? And Congress is known to have a magnetic affinity for money!
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush! So much for Yamini Aiyar's 'statist empowerment'!
