Horrible Landlord Storytime 🤬 #shorts

By boomers, I mean the people in Congress, and the CEOs of corporations who bought up single-family homes as investments, and the Not In My Back Yard crowd. I’m not talking about you or your pop-pop.

Now that we have that out of the way, yes this is definitely one of the downsides to renting. But don’t think for a minute that homeowners don’t get screwed too because they do. I’ve received countless messages from people whose mortgage payments have shot up unexpectedly because of property taxes.

And as for my landlord (who is a massive commercial landlord in California), I told them that I would be moving out because of the fee, but y’all know I’m actually going to Portugal. But they don’t need to know that. Hopefully, my objection helps the next person.

In all my years of renting, my best experiences have been renting directly from the owner of a condo instead of a rental company. My apartment before this one was $1,900 a month and it was across from Balboa Park.

My landlord didn’t raise my rent once and she let me switch to month-to-month without any additional fees.

The only reason I moved is because I wanted more room. This was my first time living in a 2-bedroom apartment. Fancy! LOL.

In Portugal, I will be renting a 3-bedroom apartment for a year while I search for a home to buy.

So that’s the tea.
