PENNY VAGRANT, originally formed in 2014 under the name “The South Shore Ramblers”, is an Alternative band currently residing in the East of Johannesburg, South Africa. After drastic changes during 2015/2016, TSSR decided it was time for a much-needed face lift going into 2017, and so Penny Vagrant was born.

With the South African Music Scene showcasing many different modes, PENNY VAGRANT isn’t fearful of branching out and incorporating elements of multiple genres to create a fresh unique South African blend, contorting the boundaries as we know it.

With our unique combination of acoustic guitar, cleaner lead vocals and a heavy punk rock back bone, PENNY VAGRANT have also artfully blended ukulele, accordion and various percussive elements into their auditory arsenal.

The members of PENNY VAGRANT genuinely love what they are doing, and that is great motivation to always improve and expand as musicians, songwriters and as performers. PV want to reshape music in a way that contests listeners, strengthens fans and ultimately puts art first.
