Aujourd'hui, je vous emmène visiter Erevan, la capitale de l'Arménie depuis 1918. La ville actuelle est en partie fondée sur l'ancienne cité urartéenne d'Erebouni. Elle est facilement reconnaissable à son architecture rose et à la silhouette majestueuse de sa montagne en arrière-fond.

Les vestiges du passé et les constructions modernes s’y marient à merveille et de nombreux spectacles et opéras s’y déroulent tout au long de l’année.
En vous promenant dans les rues, vous découvrez de nombreuses boutiques et des marchés en plein air où les étals regorgent de couleurs.

Cascade, la cathédrale Saint-Grégoire-l'Illuminateur, le centre Aznavour, le musée national d'Arménie, l'avenue du Nord, la place de la République ... C'est parti !

Today I invite you to visit Yerevan, the capital of Armenia since 1918. The current city is partly based on the ancient Urartian city of Erebouni. It is easily recognizable with her pink architecture and the majestic silhouette of its mountain.

The remains of the past and modern buildings are marvelous and many shows and operas take place throughout the year.

As a Dutch man, I have already visited Armenia 2 times with family and friends. I love a lot this relatively poor country with great hearted people.
I particulary loved 2 things there :
1/They respect all their old stones and artworks that are located all-in public places. There are NO TAGS on them, although everything is unprotected and within the reach of anyone.
2/ the whole country is so safe : You can see women or young girls sitting and chatting in a park, in hot summer time after midnight, without stress or danger. Armenia is the SAFEST country I know in the whole world.
