Great thoughts, Matt. It's funny how polarized our opinions are when the rig is brought up in conversation.

I try A-rig today afternoon for bank fishing. Catch a 31 inch striper and a 22 inch LMB and some hybird. It's amazing.
The problem I have is cast distant. I use 5 arm 8 blades A-rig (self weight 1/2 oz). I have to use four 1/4 oz jig and one 1 oz jig to get long cast distant. Do you think no blade A-rig will cast better?

I took out my snaps and swivels that came on my A rig and used owner center pin screw for the top two baits and owner split rings for the bottom three baits. Is there a reason I should use swivels in addition to my split rings?

Can you throw this rig from shore? i feel like it wouldnt be as deadly and itd be more prone to snags and losing the bait.

Can I buy a finesse a-rig from the guy in Sacramento? That would be perfect for some off these clear lakes out here in Utah

The first a-rig I purchased was like $9. When I rigged it up where I thought it look good and held it up in my hand. My first thought was pool cue! There was so little resistance my second cast was with a crankbait rod...
Banning harness fishing only made people go out and buy more of them! While they turned out to be pretty versatile, the more you play around with them, they're not necessarily a year round catch all bait... I enjoy fishing with them and can still build them for under $9 but I can't see spending 35 bucks on one..
I agree with the tour banning after all if a double fluke is not allowed how can you allow a harness?

Awesome. Looking to pick up a few but I'm lost with so many brands to choose from on tacklewarehouse. Any recommendations for some rigs with and without blades? Thinking of getting one lighter finesse rig and one that is more heavy duty for using larger baits.

I'm in northern NJ and I fish from shore mostly but I do have a tube and an inflatable pontoon. Mostly small ponds and very occasionally a big lake like my favorite Lake Taconic in central NY. Never tried the A rig. Mostly finesse soft plastics and some suspending jerk baits are my go to baits. Your video makes me want to give the A rig a toss next time i get on some big water. Love your channel, and my dream is to hire you some day and go out on one of those california big bass lakes. I only have a few 5 pounders to brag about which for the northern NJ ponds i fish is not bad. But a ten pounder would be oh so nice. Bet i could get one on a trip with you. Take care, and thanks for all the great fishing tips.
