The way the audience responds to the opening lyrics is kind of everything. Theo is integral to Vulfpeck. But he's got such an amazing solo arsenal. They're so parallel, because for the most part Vulfpeck's work doesn't sound like Katzman's work. Vulfpeck has covered a fair number of Katzman's songs, with Theo's involvement of course. And Theo's involvement in Vulfpeck's original music is obviously a thing. But this song in particular, once he starts singing, is a Theo Katzman invention presented _through_ Vulfpeck. Once the melody comes in, there's no mistaking its origin. This could have been a Ten Good Songs song feat. Vulfpeck, you know what I mean? There is so much of his identity here. And the audience got it. That's very special. I love that.

honestly the production on these tracks, especially from live recordings - is such a joy to behold. Technical mastery in both live audio production and studio production!

This song has Theo written all over it, and I don't just mean the singing of course. I even went back to see if this was a group cover of one of his solo songs that I slept on. Like, did I only listen to nine out of Ten Good Songs? And I love that. You can't blindly identify a Vulfpeck song until you've listened to at least eight Vulfpeck songs, because the creative diversity is just so vast. They don't have one specific sound, but rather a cohesive music universe, like Marvel but with pockets.
