New report shows internet-connected cars are sharing your driver info with insurance companies

About a year ago, the KSL Investigators went under the hood of some "connected" smart cars to see what kind of information they were gathering on us. University of Utah professor Sean Lawson told us consumers are sacrificing privacy for convenience.

The antenna is usually located inside the touch screen and uses phone networks. There are a few prepper videos from years ago that talk about this technology, what it could mean, and how to disable it. This device as well as your cellphone also allow for geo tracking of you by the government and law enforcement. It's completely conceivable in the future with 15 minute cities this technology could be used to prevent you from driving your car outside of your zip code.

Who is surprised by this? When something is free, YOU are the product being sold. How do you think they are paying for free internet access in your car?
My 97 Wrangler does NOT have this issue.
