The game among us which inspired this among us song is an online multiplayer social deduction game, developed and published by InnerSloth. The game among us featured in this among us animation takes place in a space-themed setting where players each take on one of two roles, most being Crewmates, and a predetermined number being Impostors.

The goal for the among us song Crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors' goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all their tasks. Through a plurality vote, players believed to be Impostors may be removed from the game. If all Impostors are eliminated or all tasks are completed, the Crewmates win; if there are an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage goes unresolved, the Impostors win.

- red heads off to the left side of the map past medbay
- blue goes to medbay after red passes it
- black and brown head downwards
- green, pink, and yellow all go to admin
- black kills brown in storage, sabotages the reactor and heads to electrical
- green leaves admin through the cafe to fix the reactor and meets red
- the reactor is fixed
- blue finishes medbay and heads to cafe
- yellow finishes their download
- pink finishes card swipe
- blue finishes flushing leaves
- pink and yellow head up to nav
- blue passes them and heads down to storage
- blue finds the body and reports
- black goes to get Ubereats
