Welcome back to the channel folks! I took the holidays off to reset and be with my family but I'm back and excited about my collecting, and channel goals, for 2025. I ended the year with a pretty cool book that I break down in this video and tell you how to enter the first giveaway of this year! You got a new subscriber. It's great hearing someone talk about his love of comics and give analysis. I'm immediarely turned off by collectors who mostly, or only, talk about money and high grades, and follow the same key checklist as everyone else. Those people have no character and are more interested in being nerd influencers. My collecting goals are largely the same as they were almost 35 years ago, when kids ran the hobby and just cared about cool characters.

1st off, love that Brother Voodoo!! Great choice for a supernatural character, that is still around today! The cover has always been one of my favorites! Really looking forward to whatever other Supernatural type character's first appearance you are able to obtain (the Living Mummy maybe?). 😉
My collecting goals is just to focus on comics that I enjoyed when I was young only, and not let myself be sidetracked like I am so much. LOL
I also love the old monsters, but I don't want to go off trying to buy each and every one of them (very pricey), so I am investing in much cheaper collected additions... My goal with that, is just to read them and get a great kick out of those stories (that tend to be awesome)!
My only personal goal this year, is to not let people take advantage of my trusting nature; I normally think people will be honorable, but I am learning they are not. Thank you, for always being a great person that I respect very much. *The comic community needs more Brandon's!*

Your collection has grown over the past year. You have so many cool and interesting books. I saw a Rise of the midnight sons on your show and collected that over the past year. It is affordable to go for. For me, I just want to look around for stuff that looks interesting. I love covers. I am not going to spend as much on stuff this year. Make some videos and try to reach 100 subscribers. I put out so many shows last year that I can say I made an impact in a small way on comic people . The one thing I want to do will shock you is I would like to get at least 1 slab in my collection. The greatest accomplishment of the time I have been making shows is a small group of friends I made, and I am glad to say you are one. #2025

Awesome channel goals brotha. Yeah giving yourself hard set goals is tough because our collecting styles can change very quick. Congrats on all your continued success. One of my goals is to get to 600 subs by 2045. 😂😂. 👊🏼

Glad to see you reached most of your goals from last year. I didn’t do great with mine, it I’m hoping to do better this year. I know you’re more of a Marvel guy, but DC has some great supernatural characters. Some like Dr. Fate & Spectre are super expensive, but there are some like Deadman, Constantine or Zatanna that are affordable. Good luck with your goals this year. Can’t wait to see how the hunt progresses throughout the year.

Finding affordable PCH books is definitely difficult (especially here in Canada). I'm hoping to find City of the Living Dead or Diary of Horror (both by Avon).

I remember watching your collecting goals for 2024 video and it inspired me to not necessarily target a big book, but always be in a position to be reactive based on what popped up in the market. Similar to you, I rely primarily on sellers online because my options are very limited locally in the sense its rare that what I collect shows up and in the condition I want. So I spent 2024 just being agile and able to action on the right books when they came out without making myself feel bad I was straying from a goal. I ended up liking this "loose" collecting goal approach, the downside is when a big book comes out (I was low-key targeting an ASM 2 all year), I couldn't really do anything about it. Everything's got pros and cons but I'm super happy with alot of the books I picked up, notably a few hard to find Alien/Predator related signed books 😁 I'm sticking to this strategy again in 2025 and we'll see what happens!

Thanks for sharing your perspective on collecting for 2025. That Strange Tales Brother Voodoo book is rad and I hope to get a copy one day. I actually always assumed John Romita did the interior art so that was abit of a surprise to see it was actually Gene Colan!

Some nice goals! You should think about adding a Marvel Spotlight #5. Can’t think of a better super natural character than Ghost Rider. Also I know it’s modern but you should check out Mark Spears Monsters run. Amazing Art and you get all the universal Monsters in it 😉

Happy New Year to The Mighty MON Comic clan! Great to have the time with the family! Great to have goals for the year, but good to go with moment, great cover I'll have that! How about some of the great Movie adaptions? Logan's run. Blade Runner, Indiana Jones, The Dark Crystal, Dune, The Time Bandits, Star Fighter. There were some great covers involved. I look forward to the episodes to follow. You make comics fun.
