Seach YouTube for "Dyson V10 Reliability : Battery failure at 18 months." This is the single most important video you must watch as a dyson owner. Basically the video says that you should not charge the vacuum immediately after your usage session, instead wait for the vacuum to cool down for 30 to 45 minutes, then charge it. The video goes into how to set up a timer to automate this process.

*Works great and is lightweight **MyBest.Tools** Comes apart for cleaning/fits back together easily. It replaced my carpet shampooer. Great on hardwood as well.*

But after a year the dyson battery will only last 5 mins and you wont be able to do you whole house 😂

Ok but why’d they use a Dyson from early 2017?

It kind of depends on how much you want to spend on a Vacuum. Dyson Vacuums are good, but they are so damn expensive. Also depends on what cleaning jobs you need done. I have no pets and only 2 carpeted floors, So my Shark APEX does a great job for what I need and would rather have corded than cordless. I dont need a Vacuum that can suck up ping pong balls through a keyhole. Again it is up to the individuals needs on which is right for them.

If that was a V10 would’ve been another story! Wait till the V15! It has a brand new cleaner head to avoid hair tangling too

Anything I learned is that corded is better then cordless.

Why compare a battery stick to a wired vacuum? It's a bit like compairing a bicycle to a motorbike..

The Dyson V8 is pretty poor nowadays, but NOTHING comes close to the V11.

These tests are meaningless. If simply changing the diameter of the hose would allow a vacuum of low suction to pickup more weight .

Actually, the pick up performance is determined by a number of factors, including the amount of agitation! Suction or just Air Watts alone does not clean without rotating brushes. What I dislike about this video is that they are using the Dyson in Max mode! Dyson do not recommend using their machines in Max mode as it does not do the battery any good and it degrades the battery over time! The Dyson gives only 100 Air Watts when on Max for 6 minutes and only a very low Air Watts on the regular mode. The Shark requires so much maintenance and is messy to maintain. These are ideal to be on the gadget show as they are just that.

Great job guys loved the gadget before I emigrated . Nice to see a comparison like this . Not that I’m a Dyson fan though I gave reviewed other brands that impressed me

I have a dyson v10 absolute and I have a shark 702... the sharks just as good and I don't have to worry about its battery failing or running out in 20 minutes everytime i use it. The sharks cord is very long also so I don't have to move plug sockets often

2kg vs 5kg is a no brainer.

Edit: hold on a minute, this ain't no fair fight if the dyson needs a full charge!

I have dyson v7 i guess, and one huge problem is that it does not suck pieces and instead splashes them around.

That suction test isn't accurate. The 35° angle of the Shark's suction tube compromises the test.

Surface area counts to lift the bloody jar.
Shark has a diagonal cut and a smaller pipe diameter.

Glad are chose the shark one with a much cheaper price than Dyson. Battery is always a critical problem for cordless vacuum cleaners.

Best corded vacuum cleaner is SEBO. You haven’t tested a quality vacuum cleaner until you have tested a SEBO!!

I dislike my Shark cordless. Suction power is pathetic.
