We have a sub zero. 29 years old. We keep up with the maintenance of cleaning every year. Yes they are worth it!

My model 561 was installed in 1988, and is still ridiculously awesome.

Our SubZero lasted 22 years before dying this year. After two repair attempts the compressor basically was going. Replacing it, we were warned the new units last only 10 to 12 years as they as with everyone else have cut costs. So we plan to enjoy it as long as we can.

We purchased out 501r in 1998. We were told that it was 12 years old at that time which would make it 37 years old and still going. We did have one large repair, but it's so much better than throwing away cheap refrigerators. Just today, I started taking the shelves apart, scrubbing all of the gaskets and touching up any chips in the paint.

We’ve had two Sub-Zeros, one side by side and one with freezer drawers. Getting ready to build and putting in a 72”. We love Sub-Zero and they are totally worth the money!

As a professional appliance salesman, I can easily echo this video. In a world of subpar quality disposable appliances, sub zero stands as the last beacon of hope that quality in manufacturing and engineering isn’t completely lost!

Wow. You just convinced me to get subzero for our new home. Thanks for the video.

The reason these last long is because people are willing to repair them due to their cost. Not because they’re more reliable. I can say that as an owner I have had to have mine repaired just about as often as any standard fridge

We spent nearly $35, 000 on Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances (not from this authorized dealership tho). First, the built-in coffee maker never got to a hot temperature. Called customer service numerous times within the first month of being installed and they sent out someone to work on it but they never could get it any hotter so we don't use it since it makes luke warm coffee. Sub-zero/Wolf gave us an extended warrenty on our refrigerator because of the issue for the coffee maker??? Second, built in double oven has never been at the precise temp so we have always had to guess and bake longer and one of the lights burned out within the first 5 months of use. Third, the gas cooktop knobs do not stay in position. They will slightly turn/float so you can't get at a precise temperature. For example, if you want it on med heat and place the knobs to the middle it will eventually float to simmer. This happens to two of the knobs and started since first purchased. And last, refrigerator alarm kept sounding so I called customer service and the rep was rude and augmentative. That was the last straw and therefor this review. If you think these are top of the line appliances without issues you will be disappointed. I would skip buying because they are overpriced and definently not worth it!!

I lived in a High end apartment in NYC, with a Subzero, and it did a great job, no issues.

I bought a 36" wide Subzero 550 in 2005, it was new, but actually built in 2000. After both the freezer and fridge compressors failed last year, Subzero paid for both compressors and most of the labor to repair and replace them. Everyone has different opinions about everything, but I think Subzero is an incredible company, especially after it paid to fix a 20 year old unit. Plus I built a 'stainless steel' restaurant style kitchen in my home, and the Subzero with stainless panels installed looks stunning, no other unit comes close to match the beauty or reliability and customer service of a Subzero.

Yes they are worth it. I became obsessed with after I visited y friends house in the 90s and saw the subzero integrated with the cabinets they were pretty rich folks but I never saw that before

definitely worth the money. I just purchased a high end home with a built in unit. It cools consistently with it's vacuum system and insulation. This unit has the quality of those made 40 years ago. Prior to now the average refridgerator lasts 5-7 years if lucky. In this case buy cheap get cheap.
