I'm so happy that you're not on board with demonizing silicones. I have curly hair and have read for years that silicones are the worst for my hair and my experience has always been opposite!

Formula
Step one: apply coconut-based oil on all the lenght of ends before shower
Step two: use shampoo 'that actually removes oils and buildup' (clarifying shampoo once a week)
Step three: bond repair treatment after shampoo
Step four: hair mask for 10 minutes
Srep five: optionally finish up with conditioner with silicones in it

Abby has been our hair guru for years. Her deep dives and recommendations are the best. However, keep in mind…hair shedding is an entirely different issue than hair damage. You need a different approach if you are experiencing hair loss.

Thank you! I was there when people started demonizing silicones. So I bought countless products without it to find my hair breaking off, being dull and lifeless. I tried all kind of oils, but it left me looking greasy. And for some reason sunflower oil smells like frying oil on my hair after a while. Ew.
Now I am back with silicones and voilà, my mane is silky and smooth.

Not to mention leave in products. Leave-in conditioner and, if applying heat, heat protector are the bare minimum. In addition, leave-in treatments and oil for lengths and end can do wonders.

I absolutely love the elizavecca hair mask. Omg!

Actually hair masks typically have a PH that can be higher, so it is still necessary to follow up with a conditioner because conditioner has a lower PH to seal the cuticle.

I bought the OGX Moroccan oil to do instead of the coconut oil because I'm allergic, and I've noticed the difference as well.... So there's hope for those with coconut allergy.!

I’ve been using your tips. I have curly hair my curls are more on the loose end and a few years ago as I was learning more on how take care of my hair it was a lot of, “people with curls should only use sulfate free shampoo, No silicon, and only shampoo your scalp because getting shampoo on the actual hair is bad for your hair. Say all this to say, all these curly hair tips made my hair grow super slow, a lot of breakage, and my scalp would feel itchy. After seeing your videos I ordered the coconut oil which does wonders with decreasing breakage when washing my hair. I also started using drug store shampoo with the sulfate once a week and my scalp feels so good and my hair is growing!

Love that you included the L’Oréal extraordinary clay! I use that and add tea tree oil to it because my scalp is so oily!

LOVE your tip of using conditioner after a mask. I never would have thought to try it but it is the absolute BEST (I use coco & eve 😍).
