I remember cruising thru Marquette Park in our muscle cars, blasting "The Loop" on the radio, admiring other people's cars, flirting with girls, parking & bs'ing with strangers about their car stereos, car engines & paint jobs. There wasn't ONE thug or gangbanger in the park. We kept it that way for a reason. Aside from a VERY occasional fight, it was good clean fun. Same with Oak Street Beach. THEN the undesirables took over and both places went to shit. I wonder why those places went to shit? 🤔
