Her name was Stacey, and we were both 15. We lived 90 miles apart: I lived in Chicago, her in Wisconsin, and this was "our song". A lovely first love. Luckily, when we were both in our early 30s, we reunited and had dinner, laughing about how caught up we got in this "I Remember The Feeling". It will always be a special song from a very special time in my life.

If I was allowed only one song from Chicago 17, this is the one I'd pick. Over all the other classic hits from that LP.

Great post!!! Chicago 17 potentially had 8 of 11 songs that could have easily been top 10. And the other 3, could have been in the top 20! I've listened to Chicago 17 over n over n over! There is A reason that it is the all time Greatest selling Album for Chicago!!! ( 1.You had my Big 3- Peter Cetera, Bill Champlin, and Robert Lamm- The perfect 3 part harmony, blend, and all three could do solos, and they were all nice looking with charisma! 2.David Foster- Great job producing.( Sappy smooth romantic love ballads n soft rock were definitely the thing in the 80s- like them or not- And Foster knew how to produce them- and brought out the best of all the talent, dealing with a lot of great talent and egos!) 3. Great Songs! 4. Timing was perfect! 5. Did I say Peter Cetera- Yes, of the Big 3, He was the man! Bill 2nd, and Robert 3rd! I've never heard a high smooth as silk romantic voice b4, nor since! The man was made for soft rock n love songs! -- In my opinion, that's why Chicago 17 was sohhh great! And, By the way, I just saw a list of Chicagos All time top 25 rated songs by the fans- and yes, You guessed it- " YOUR THE INSPIRATION" STILL STANDS AS THE #1 FAN RATED SONG. So, love him or not- IT WAS WRITTEN AND SUNG BY THE ONE AND ONLY-- MR. PETER CETERA!!!

Best song from 17.. and I never heard it on the radio.. ever. Peter may have a huge ego.. but.. his pipes.. were simply the best in the business.

Chicago 17 had a bunch of great tunes (You're the Inspiration, Along Comes a Woman, Once in a Lifetime...) but this is up there with the best - from any of their songs. Without Peter Cetera, Chicago sounds like any other cover band.

This song was never released because it had 3 strikes against it in the politics of the band (read Bobby Lamm) - 1. Cetera/Champlin wrote it, 2. It was a ballad 3. It has heavy David Foster influence & production.  It's my favorite song on 17, bar none.  It has been since I was 15 years old listening to this album new.
