Alexander - 'Truth'

Here is a live rendition of "Truth" from the album Alexander, a solo project by Alex Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Ima Robot. On the album, Ebert plays all of the instruments himself, and here the track is mixed by Bronson Island's Mike Schuppan.

When I first heard this song, I was just about to go to sleep.. but then I was listening it on repeat till 4 a.m. and still I had not enough... Listening to this rendition is like reliving some parts of my life that never happened or happened in another lifetime.
Big thanks 💚

What a mesmerizing and majestic song—the lyrics are brilliant and have helped me in my journey recently. Just love the eerie and mysterious texture of the song: the hypnotic whistling, the superb background singers, Ebert’s soothing, almost healing voice, the extraordinary keyboards, and so on. It is no wonder that Guy Ritchie chose this for his closing credits of his new movie “The Covenant” (so powerful right after the last scene of the knowing nods of understanding between the two protagonists) and why Vince Gilligan and his music editors chose this for the powerful scene just after Jesse had killed the naive Gale. One of the most meaningful and magical songs I have ever heard.

I heard this song randomly on a chill playlist and I couldn't get enough of it. I think I listened to it about 20 times while mowing the lawn when it first showed up on my playlist, lol. Hearing this version is amazing. It's beautiful and haunting. I had to show it to my wife and kids. Truly remarkable song writing.

This is, by a considerable distance the most multi faceted song/journey I've ever had the fortune to hear. The most concise and touching lyrics, I can't imagine a human being not being moved by "Truth". It's like seeing an old friend for the first time in months/years; in a matter of moments you click again. A benevolent form of acceptance. Every time I hear it I interpret it differently. That's the true genius of this song, it speaks to you if you're at the bottom of the barrel or at the top of pile. I'd love to have the ability to evoke such emotions on humanity, what a wonderful gift.
