I'd recommend a scarab with a silencer and purple critter dmg. Ammo's practically free and if you sense impending doom, you can safe pocket the addons since scarab's cheap af. If you don't miss the weakspot too often, it only takes about 450 bullets and on the cheapest ammo, that's especially big value vs sinking band after band on blue ammo

Just helped a solo kill it to find out there was a guy in a bush that shot us both dead after we killed it. Turns out the howler was my next quest when I got back to lobby lol now I'm screwed killing it myself

blue guarantee with a purple creature converter drains its hp stupidly fast bigger mags make this more viable

Great video! You covered a ton of topics that were very important, and a few tips I had no idea existed! like standing still to mitigate the sonar effects, and being able to deactivate the howler eggs. Any opinions on the best gun to use as a solo player that only uses basic ammo? I'm trying to do some low cost howler runs. -horde2k

Dude u can solo the howler on both maps with manticore and 1k ammo. Just find a safe building with roof cracks and shoot it.
