When Kamala Harris thanked her 'chitthis' [aunts in Tamil] in her acceptance speech for the Democratic party’s vice-presidential nomination in 2020, it became a moment that resonated with many. Nearly 200 Indian-American women across the United States formed the 'Chitthi Brigade' and began campaigning for Harris and the Democratic party. They are now campaigning for her as she runs for president in the 2024 US elections. The BBC’s Divya Arya met with some of them in a suburb of Washington DC.

This is sweet, but these ladies haven't presented a good reason to support Harris here, other than identity. As someone whose identity is similar to hers, I ask- is that really enough? Is German/Scottish heritage enough to support Trump? No.

No need to get that shitty wonen thing, everywhere.
"" That potrays a sense of inferiority that perhaps one associates with India or Women, in general.
As if being the President or VP, will enhance feminism ( in its true sense) in any way.
