It has finally arrived, the new Fujifilm X-Pro 2. Since 2014 people have been waiting and talking and rumoring about the next new X-Pro camera. Even industry insiders were worried about when this camera would finally be released. It's finally here. Need I say more? Enjoy the video!

Just bought the Xpro2 in July 2020 as my backup to the Xpro3!

The audio in this video is SO much better. And video quality. Thanks for the review

I love the shutter speed dial. I like to set 1/125 or 1/250. I want the maximum depth of field while stopping motion.

Great video. One comment I would have regarding the lack of need for a shutter speed dial on modern cameras... I actually use this all the time for street photography or photographing candid shots of family etc, especially in low light. I would set the speed I need to stop the motion, eg for people talking and moving slowly I'd set 1/125, for people walking or moving faster I'd set 1/250. That way you can set your ISO as low as possible to achieve a given speed and aperture combination. I shoot street photography with a film Leica also which is obviously fully manual and I always use this type of 'mental shutter priority' all the time. Cheers

I rarely shoot RAW but like the idea of having separate card slots to store JPEG and RAW.

Interesting you pointed out X-Pro1 screen resolution being higher than any other X-camera before the X-Pro2. Per the specs you are right, but owning both the X-Pro1 and X-T1, the X-T1 screen is much sharper. I wonder what that is about.

I would have liked a LCD like in xt1 which can tilt and also touch screen for focus n shoot as in my olympus...it helps in the candid shooting in the streets..

Nice to see video so fast after the keynote. THX!

I barely use the shutter speed dial on my X-E2, probably because I shoot mainly in aperture priority. And I've never used the exposure compensation dial either. In fact I've never used EC while shooting at all! I prefer to do all that in post...but like you said they look nice.

The opening shot of this video with all those Fuji cameras...they're handsome beasts!

Great review Take! Although I have to disagree about the shutter dial, I use it (shutter priority mode) quite a bit when I am after a certain amount of motion blur (I usually usually switch between 125, 60, and 30). Glad they found a way to keep us both happy. Going to start saving up now for an x-pro2 and a 35 f/2, they look and sound awesome!

You've done a great job with this review - wonderful! This is a revolutionary camera for the price point!

I shoot fully manual so I hope Fuji leave the shutter dial in place.

Thanks for the video BHT, always enjoyable.
I priced the X-Pro2 here in Australia, $2699AUD seems to be the going rate.
To put that into some perspective the Canon 6D is $1700AUD, $1000 difference is OTT in my opinion..
Fuji sure don`t want me to update my XE-1 to the X-Pro2.

This camera sounds and looks so enticing. Was thinking about going fullframe Sony or canon but the features and sensor of this cam are tempting. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for the excellent review. Now I can conveniently move up directly from my XE2 to the new XPRO2 without bothering about the XT1 which I never really wanted anyway.

I was expecting a formidable upgrade from the XPro1, especially with such a stop-gap involved (being able to handle longer primes, a more versed AF, and lil' more general snappiness). But certainly didn't expect how much a retooling has taken place (weathersealing, adj. diopter, ISO dial). Look forward to seeing more handsy exp + shots (very excited to see this Acros film in action). Likely will get my hands on one, but will hold off the initial GAS madness over it.

Speculation Q: With both the Fujifilm SLR/RF flagships officially being weather sealed, do you see it being possible, that the X100 family may see a weathered sealed iteration debuted?

With your current shooting exp. (I know its a pre-prod. build). it using the same 126 battery, as with other larger X-Bodies AND XPro1 - have you seen similar battery usage rating, or it being more efficient?

Now I saw a image layering, identifying the fujifilm prime brightlines, to the OVF view (from 90mm down), and happen to not see a marker for WA / UWA lenses (stopped at 18mm). Is that a goof? Or would a firmware jolt be needed, to reID them back into lineup?

I miss the old fujinon logo on top, that and the lack of articulating screen are the only minor complaints I have

This is a really, REALLY good review. It hits all the points that a PHOTOGRAPHER needs, not a spec geek. I am somewhat late to the digital realm (still love my OMs, my Oly 35SP and Chamonix 4x5, ) but recently acquired an X-Pro1. It is still capable perhaps beyond my current vision, but I can see the utility of the X-Pro2 improvements.

Thanks - when next I am in Van I will have to buy you a thank you drink ... as long as Tom A is also invited! :)

the shutter dial needs to be there. The x-pro is geared towards the film experience. That being side, many users (including myself) will use a light meter and match the aperture and shutter speed on this camera. If you want automation, go buy a sony.
