You are just too nice, Sarah. You make the world a better place.

They had a very special harmonic sound. I think you'd love "Our House" and "Teach Your Children". "My Lady of the Islands" is a very quiet love song, with lovely, glowing imagery. They made wonderful music in their time together. :)

A wonderfully simple piece of music, but given their unique treatment it has been elevated to brilliance.
David Crosby is sadly missed. Stephen Stills, a master of his art. Graham Nash, whose harmony style influenced me throughout the almost 60 years I spent as a musician.
Cannot be replicated. Always remembered..
Thank you.

You can't go wrong with this group. A must listen is their Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.

The best harmonies ever, along with Simon and Garfunkel! So glad you heard this.

Actually, they DID last a long time as CSN. Try "Guinevere" to hear similar beautiful harmonies.

I’ve always loved the alliteration throughout the song. Beautiful and clever. ❤

Sarah. Released in 1969. Written by Stephen Stills, it uses words by way of aliteration eg helplessly hoping, wordlessly watching. Absolutely superb. They were later joined by Neil Young ( you loved his song Old Man a little while back ) who added an extra layer to the harmonies. The finest band ever. Unfortunately they didn’t last very long due to squabbling between them. You won’t go wrong with any track by them.

Sarah, so glad your enjoying these powerful songs. We as I mean those of us who were born in the 50’s. This was what our generation listen too.

To us, the Woodstock generation, these songs are our hymns.

When you said: they are "meant" to be together... it brought a jolt of satisfaction into my heart.
I've loved those guys for the past 40 years, Imissed them incredibly. They have shared so much, personally & musically. It had to be somehow. So meant? Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. They had their role to play in our lives.
Thank you for doing this. Much obliged!

Their harmonies were just as beautiful when they performed live. I was able to see them once in the '80s and just stood there entranced.

I think they could harmonize like this the first time they sang together.

I only saw CS&N once, I think it was 1979, maybe 1980. Great show! I think I'll have to buy Sarah a coffee to request another lesser known but great song from their 1st album.

Listen to their "Southern Cross" rendition. I think you'll be taken by the harmonies in it. I think it's the best of their large lot.

Had the great privilege of seeing them live in a private concert at a trade show in San Diego years ago. Stills said, "If you had told me, when we were playing Woodstock, that one day we'd be playing a concert for old people at a pharmaceutical trade show, I'd never have guessed it." Entire audience went absolutely insane! It was one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen!
