This box was definitely more book references than movie ones. Those who know the books well get the references pretty much right away. I personally love to listen to the audiobooks at least one a year.

I am obsessed with the troll foot. It’s charmingly hideous and a sneaky reference to book 5. I’d *love* to put a plant in it and tuck it into a nice little corner of my patio garden.

PNB Phineas N. Black was a headmaster at Hogwarts so he had a portrait in Dumbledore's office and one at Grimmauld place. Hermione took it in her bag and used it to spy a bit on Snap4 while he was headmaster and stuff. It was in the books but they didnt include it in the movies.

I mean, they’re not niche references for the books.
The portrait of phineas is introduced in book 5, there are references to it in 6 in dumbledores office, and the trio carry it around for like, a third of deathly hallows.
Tonks always knocks over the troll foot umbrella stand when entering number 12, which makes the portrait of Sirius’s mother wake up and yell.
In general, the entire house of black and black family are known to be dark wizards. It makes sense that the items in the box would be dark.
I wish they had included the music box that makes everyone sleepy (until Ginny closed it) that was thrown away in book 5.

In the books, Slytherin's Locket is described as a large, oval locket of heavy gold with a serpentine 'S' in green jewels. Dustin said he made it silver because it felt more Slytherin. The movie locket is a whole different thing.

I ADORE how dark this box is tbh. It reflects how dark the house of Black is as well.
Would love a sibling box for Reg and Sirius tbh, that would be really cool!

The reason the lockets are similar is because the “adult” cover of Deathly Hallows has a locket just like that design! So in a way it’s book accurate!!!

What I did with the mermaid glass piece, & now Kraecher, is glued a magnet on the back. Fridge art!! And if you put the tapestry under a piece of glass for a coffee table, that'd be neat. (?)

I honestly think they outdone themselves in this box. i loved it!!!! i would not use the elf head either but its such a cool detail, and the black family is a dark and evil family and i think they showcased that so well!!!

I really liked this box. I think expecting a box on the Black family to have only "light" items is odd. The whole family (before Sirius) was dark, Slytherins, pure bloods. I thought the house elf head was genius! The troll foot was kind of a given for me. Tonks kept on tripping over it making Walburga shriek. Some unusual and one of a kind replicas were in it. The tapestry was really nice too, even though it's been done before.

I don't know if I've ever heard you mention this: have you only seen the movies or have you read the books? The troll foot is pretty prominent in the books. I also didn't like the key but liked the key chain. I don't really see the items as niche myself. They all seemed super spot on for the House of Black and I loved this box. For me the best items are toss ups between the troll leg, house elf head, and the headmaster portrait pin. Best sub box. Wizarding Trunk is by far #1 these days.

I thought they hit it out of the park with book references! As soon as the theme of the box was announced, i hoped they would do a troll foot and elf head! The pin and portrait were brilliant ideas to!

I actually loved everything in this box. Even the key. Yes it's big but for a shelf and collection it's awesome. This box is all unusual and not the standard for characters etc. The family tree, you could make into a large cuddle pillow. Get a dark fabric for the back ❤ as always love your videos ❤ some dark items but so different

What I love about Cherry is that she shares her honest opinion. This may not have been her favourite box but she still did a wonderful job unboxing it. She might just have different taste in what she likes to include in her collection and that’s ok. Thanks Cherry
