As has become the theme throughout this chapter, we will continue our analogy between numerical fractions and rational expressions as we attempt to add and subtract rational expressions that do NOT already have a common denominator. Today, we look at how to use the least common multiple of both monomial and polynomial expressions in order to create a common denominator for our expressions, and then add them together.

I usually always multiple the two denominators to find a common one, especially if it’s odd, the larger numbers don’t take me as long to work with as finding the LCM for the most part
