Adding two rational expressions with unlike denominators
Показать описание
Learn how to add and/or subtract rational expressions. A rational expression is an expression in the form of a fraction where the numerator and/or the denominator are/is an algebraic expression. When adding or subtracting rational expressions we first obtain the lowest common multiple (LCM) of the denominators and then multiply each numerator with the factor which when multiplied to the denominator gives the obtained LCM.
After we have transformed each of the rational functions to have the same denominator, we then add/subtract the numerators to obtain the required sum/difference of the original rational expression.
