Unfortunately, the reason that they don't use the tailgate light bar for brake/tail lighting is due to gov. regulation. You can't have meaningful lights on a portion of the vehicle that can move (doors, tailgates, lift gates, etc.)

Great content! Adding sections that we could easily skip to would be beneficial for videos at such length like these.

I love how Rivian had such confidence in their vehicle that they had no restrictions other than not getting it airborne. And not one squeak or rattle at the end of testing. Amazing! Your videos were exactly what I needed to follow through with an R1T purchase.

Super helpful videos, my Max Pack R1T is still probably at least a year and a half away, but I'm slowly getting more complete information on how it will perform especially when towing a camper trailer. Only feeling more confident about buying one as time passes.

Rivian needs to put/offer 4 wheel steering which is better than the tank steering which is now not available. Four wheel steering makes in town driving easier and safer plus makes parking a much easier task.

I'm not a truck guy, but this sounds impressive. I would assume faster charging times would be an upgrade it later models as that really seems to be it's biggest drawback, but it is comparable to a lot of other EVs. I just hope the people that buy it do their research on the charging infrastructure in their area as you don't want to get stuck finding a charger when you desperately need one. I'm also expecting a lot of complaints about the range come winter time for new EV owners.

I realize it is impossible to answer at this time, but I'd love to year the groups take on the max pack. If the theoretical advantages are worth the cost/weight.

A little electrical theory. A NEMA 14-50 is going to give you the same 6.6KW as the Chargepoint. Portable EVSEs are going to be 32A at best. The voltage at a commercial site is 208 not 240 which is where the 6.6KW comes from, i.e. 208 x 32. Commercial power is three phase not the split phase you have at home. If the hotel were to run 60A lines to a hardwired 48A EVSE you could get 9.9KW, 208 x 48. Note the maximum current that you are allowed to draw is 80% of the lines rating, i.e. 32A on a 40A line, 40A on a 50A line and 48A on a 60A line.

How about testing a Rivian. RV camping with a tow behind. Using it's batteries to power the camper and AC/ Heat pump. Boondocking is where the electric vehicles will shine

If you have the RTT, can the truck level itself on uneven terrain? I need to sleep level.

Something I dislike: The rear-view camera resolution and overall image quality.

V2L is coming according to RJ in a dialogue with the 10 folks brought to Normal a while back.

Anyone do a test on mileage lost with typical Thule/Yakima rooftop box? I think for us R1S reservation holders this use case likely quite common. Would love any ballpark guesstimates.
Really appreciate your work here.

Great review, but I have to question your beer selection, considering you are Fort Collins guys.
