The tensor cores actually are useful for gaming and will grow even more so in the future. 1. The tensor cores are needed to run a denoising pass on the raytracing results of the RT cores, as 1-2 rays per pixel is too low for clean results. 2. Deep Learning Anti Aliasing (DLAA) and Adaptive Temporal Anti Aliasing (ATAA) have been showcased by Nvidia, the first relies directly on the tensor cores and the other one is a raytracing solution that of course relies on the tensors to denoise the RT results. 3. SIGGRAPH was packed with presentations about deep learning models accelerating simulations of things like water and smoke.

What do you think of when they mention RTX, I think of Rooster Teeth.

Also my conspiracy side thinks this is an attempt to take some of AMDs GPU share. RTX = RX? Maybe they want to confuse people, I don't know that's just my theory.

Hey Tim! Keep your shoulders wider and your posture open. Cheers!

Every other aspect of your presentation is great, so keep up the good work!

I'll wait until it's released. This rumour mill is so far into overdrive I can almost hear Scott yelling something about 'power'...

If FreeSync isn't supported this time (most likely), I won't be getting this GPU (and yes, out of principle)

Can't wait for these to drop! Need about 6 of them for my new mining rig! Hurry up Nvidia!

I think Nvidia realize that their cards is already powerful enough to last 5+ years. But now older cards without RT unit is gonna have very high GPU usage because it doesn't hardware acceleration. With the release of newer games I expect 10 series cards to be pretty much obsolete in about 2 years.

I encourage everyone watch the nvidia CEO Jensen losing his mind during the launch keynote of the RTX. "I got 10 GIGARAYS and 16 TIPS here (bitch)!" Had me cracking up.

So im assuming all new graphics cards coming out after the Turing architecture will also have the RTX branding. I guess this is signifing the change of gaming forever

I was one of the people on the 20zx boat so I find it cool that Nvidia basically confirmed the naming is NOT 11xx and is "RTX" 2080.

I really hope they release the Ti at the same time as the normal card

Finally, I'm glad that it's RTX 2080, not 1100 series! Can't wait to see what it has to offer when you introduce and test it :)

The way I see it games that are currently in development probably won't have raytracing support so you are looking at gaming in 2018/19 on a 2080 without getting full usage and we arent going to be seeing a lot of games using raytracing even in 2020 i believe..i think about Dx11 vs Dx12..Dx12 been out for a few years (2015 i think?) and there are still plenty of games in Dx11, i see the same thing happening with raytracing for some time.
