Genix drops new single ‘Accelerator’, out now on Anjunabeats.

The evolution of Damion 'Damo' Houchen, a.k.a. Genix, continues. The past 18 months have seen the UK producer release his debut album, close Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheatre, launch his club-oriented ‘Warehouse55’ EP series and event brand, and sell out two headline Warehouse 55 events in London and Los Angeles.

In April 2019, Damo took the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude DJ set above sea level at Mount Everest Base Camp, 5,525 meters high. Glacier-shattering techno record ‘Ba55 Camp’ followed, inspired by his journey.

2021 saw the release of the ‘Praha EP' and his long-awaited debut artist album ‘199X’. A love letter to rave culture, '199X' showcased his diverse sound; from soulful vocal exploits ‘Numb’ (featuring LYCA) and Space Terrace-minded ‘Be Free’, to high octane anthems ‘Higher & Higher’ and ‘What You Do To Me’. It found eclectic support, from Oliver Heldens and Diplo, to Anja Scheider, Étienne de Crécy, Rex The Dog and Alan Fitzpatrick, the latter of which Genix later remixed on Anjunadeep.

A return to the club music that made him an in-demand DJ, Warehouse55 embraces the harder side of Damo’s sound. Released last year, his debut Warehouse55 EP gained support from Marco Carola, Maceo Plex, Chris Lake, Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, Joris Voorn, John Digweed, Sam Paganini, and beyond.

I don't even know where to begin. This is a killer track, a straight up banger and a great follow to Ba55 island. This hits different. An evolution of the sound? If it is, let's keep this project going, I want to see where it goes. I hate to compare, but life is full of comparison - it's melodic like A&B, dark like Arty building to the drop, then right back to Genix with a punch in the organs.
