Sharapova shouldnt lose that point at all

Honestly, this was one of Sharapova's weaker points. She had multiple chances to to end the point with a more or less precise and powerful shot.

Wozniacki did amazing but sharapova really messed up both volleys. Should have played the first one a lot shorter and the second one just needed to be anywhere in court and it would have been enough

This was always one of Maria’s biggest weaknesses and nobody besides Serena really exploited it consistently. She never learnt how to close down the net properly so even at the net she’d just continue hitting groundies to the space, so all the opponent had to do was hang in there and wait until they get the opportunity to take a swing at it and hit hard to the space which then sent Maria flailing around the court, almost always losing the point. Serena did this against her again, and again, and again and again 😂
