Nice place, Abrantes. Like many of Portugal’s towns, Abrantes is no doubt a place where kids create childhood memories, where the young fall in love for the first time, that the young leave to get an education and earn a living, and where “saudade” brings some of them back to live out the rest of their days and relive childhood and puppy love memories. One would do well to sail the Tagus from Lisbon and visit all the small towns and the fortifications that gave birth to places like Abrantes. Thank you.

We first visited Abrantes in 2010 with my parents. It was one of my father's dreams to visit the "Regimento de Infantaria" where he was stationed before shipping off to Angola in the early 1960's. The soldiers gave him a personalized tour and it was one of the happiest days of his life. We plan on returning next summer as we (hopefully) will be completing the EN2 and spend some time in this lovely place and trying some "palha"! Thank you for another wonderful video; brings Portugal to those of us who (sadly) can't be there full-time!
