Get to know the Geosciences major

Geosciences - oftentimes called Earth Science in high schools - includes many different topics within the field. At UWM, students can focus on hydrogeology (water), paleoecology (paleontology/climate change), geophysics (earthquakes/magnetism), hard rock (volcanoes/tectonics/mineralogy) or sediment and surface (rocks/glaciers/deposits). Students in this program enjoy spending significant amounts of time in the field and around the world, gaining hands on experience in their field.
