How did Beta werewolf Peter Hale beat Alpha Laura Hale?

Everybody wants to see more of Laura Hale on the Teen Wolf. Jeff Davis confessed to me once that he really wanted to do a flashback episode featuring Derek Hale's older sister but just never had the opportunity during the run of the #TeenWolf TV show.

The most asked question about Laura is how she became an alpha but a close second is how could Peter Hale defeat her when she was an alpha and he was a beta werewolf fresh from a six-year coma?

i swear people forget that these werewolves are people too. So peter catching laura offguard is absoltely fine because a lot of teen wolf characters seem to lack awareness. Example would be laura. If i see someone standing in the woods all alone i wouldn't approach them family or not but she saw someone standing in the woods all alone and she caught got slipping. Moral of the story don't go in the woods at night in beacon hills🤣🤣

I just got so sick of Scott losing damn near every fight he got into. Especially when he had to fight Liam. That was the one, among several other instances where Scott should’ve ABSOLUTELY put Liam in his place as alpha and MAKE him see reason. Sure Scott became the true alpha but there was never really a time where it felt like it.

I always thought it was mostly the element of surprise, Laura wasn't expecting to be attacked by her uncle so she wasn't prepared to retaliate. Though, I don't understand why Laura and Derek trusted Peter that much cause it was shown he was kinda creepy and shady even before he got insane.

Ive learn to not ask too much question about teen wolf power scaling lol but yeah the element of surprise here and the fact she was a *good werewolf* that didnt want to kill a family member....Still with the logic of beta stealing alpha power mechanic, werewolf shouldnt be surpise about family murder.
