What's great about this, is the entire time we see him through the movie, he acts tough and tyrant like. He see himself above others and that nothing can touch him. All up until we see him fire a gun, and everything that he was trying to be is basically non existent. We then see him for who he really is on the inside.... A coward.

Idris is strangely sympathetic in a way. I assume his father or parents died in the war and that’s why he’s allowed to join the Taliban at such a young age. His uncle seems to be his only relative and he seems like a jerk. He’s a product of a war torn society, he wants so badly to take the anger and rage he feels out on the rest of the world.
