5 Vanguard Funds Ranked for Highest Return

In this video, I’ll show you the power of ETF investing and why every investor needs some exchange traded funds in their portfolio. I’ll then rank the five best Vanguard funds by return, show you what is in each ETF and if it’s right for your portfolio.

Why is ETF investing so important? Why do I think all investors should have some ETFs in their portfolio? Because exchange traded funds give you that opportunity to take the stress out of investing. By holding hundreds and even thousands of stocks in a fund, you don’t need to worry about any one stock destroying your returns. You smooth out the ups and downs of individual stocks for that market return. Vanguard funds are some of the lowest cost you’ll find and in fact, expense ratio isn’t as important because it’s almost negligible for most Vanguard ETFs.

The five Vanguard funds I’ll highlight have some of the highest returns over the last year but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should run out to buy them. Pay attention to what is in each fund and whether it fits with your portfolio. I’ve included exchange traded funds in several themes to help you find the two or three that will give you the diversification you need.

Question: Do you own any Vanguard ETFs or Funds? Which ones?

For someone like me, that doesn't have the time nor knowledge to research single stock all day long, your vanguard ETF strategy fits just perfect, thanks a lot Joseph.

VTI and never look back. If that ETF fails to deliver, America has failed and probably most of the world's financial markets ..
I am 70% VTI and 30% SCHG

Great selection Joseph, thanks, but there are more Vanguard etfs also interesting and valuable. In my portfolio I have VOO, VGT, VEA, VIG, VYM, VNQ and VWO. I plan to add VHT and maybe VUG and VT. I'm not sure if VTI is superior to VOO, historical performance has been almost the same. I would suggest adding at least VGT and VNQ to your next video: VGT for its high grow rate (superior to QQQ) and VNQ for diversification (real estate).

Hey thanks! I will definitely be adding these to my portfolio as I like to buy etfs in my Roth IRA every paycheck but VOO is slightly to expensive to consistently buy every check. Going forward my Roth IRA will be solely for Etf funds and my wife's will be a mixture of companies like apple, tesla, etc, but even that will probably start going the way into etf funds. If I have more money we can put away AFTER maxing out the Roth IRAs I will put that into Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Thanks Joseph for all the informative videos. Can you make one about turnovers in ETFs? Would I be expecting a tax bill on the distributions if an ETF has a high turnover, i.e. 50% turnover?
